To Win or Toulouse (Tour de France)
This portfolio of images cuts across two themes - we have some that contains a direct
reference to the TdF and two others which have no immediate connection. From the title
the connection would be that these are images taken in Toulouse where the TdF was
passing through.
Footer 281. An image which introduces the theme, showing banners across the road. A difficult
exposure to manage, with very dark shadows and a grey sky. There are foreground
midground and background elements, and these combine with the perspective to give a
sense of depth. The most interesting part o flt his image is the top Hal’s where we have
the banner and the mountains in the background which are well framed by the two lines
of trees. Perhaps this image needs to include more of the street below, or just the top
banner against the mountains, in which case a letterbox format would work well.
